De la COVID-19 au changement climatique, la société dans laquelle nous vivons aujourd’hui est remplie d’incertitudes. Le besoin de gestion des risques n’a jamais été aussi élevé et la traduction ne fait pas exception. Depuis le milieu des années 2000, le nombre de chercheurs en traductologie intéressés à explorer la relation entre risque et traduction a connu une augmentation lente mais constante. Deux approches ont émergé en particulier : l’une porte sur l’influence du risque dans la prise de décision du traducteur (Voir par ex. Pym 2015 ; Pym et Matsushita 2018 ; Matsushita 2019 ; Pym 2020), et l’autre sur les implications économiques de la gestion des risques dans le secteur de la traduction (voir par ex. Lammers 2011 ; Nitzke, Hansen-Schirra et Canfora 2019 ; Nurminen 2019 ; Canfora et Ottman 2020). La première approche a soulevé de nombreuses questions retenant l’attention des chercheurs – elles seront le sujet principal de cet article. La seconde approche comprend des conseils pratiques aux parties prenantes des projets de traduction (par exemple les chefs de projet, les clients, les traducteurs, les post-éditeurs) ; on en discutera aussi mais dans une moindre mesure.
