Edwin Gentzler’s Contemporary Translation Theories is now a widely known book as it sets out to give an overall account of the matter and is included in a leading Translation Studies series (Routledge’s). Therefore, I will make do here with a brief mention of its contents. It is divided into six chapters that mark the “evolution” of thought about translation.
