The present book is based on a PhD thesis submitted in January 2000 at University College London. It offers a detailed account of the scene of translation into German during the Nazi period from the perspective of a descriptive research work within Translation Studies. It thus contributes a very methodical and well-structured study to enrich our discipline. Throughout the book’s five chapters, one can see the progression of a deep insight into the oftentimes contradictory translation policy of the Nazi period, in a clear manner and in a reader-friendly style.
