Je ne pense pas qu’on puisse en ce moment affirmer que le phénomène du développement ou le champ de recherche des études en développement sont, en tant que tels, un sous-domaine de la traductologie (Translation Studies*) ou d’un quelconque intérêt pour elle. On ne trouvera pas de monographies ou même d’articles de revues scientifiques où des traductologues se seraient aventurés dans un tel champ au sens strict. Par contre, des chercheur-e-s en développement se sont aventuré-e-s, certes à de rares occasions, dans le champ de la traduction, mais pas nécessairement au sens communément admis de la notion de traduction (voir Lewis & Mosse, 2006). Mon propos ici est plutôt que par ses tournants récents (Turns in TS*), la traductologie se trouve de plus en plus mêlée, par inadvertance, aux enjeux de développement. Tout d’abord, je fournirai une conceptualisation succincte du développement et de son étude. Ensuite, j’indiquerai comment on peut conceptualiser la relation entre traduction et développement. Finalement, j’esquisserai des perspectives d’avenir de cette relation interdisciplinaire (Interdisciplinarity***) en faisant valoir que la traductologie n’a pas le choix d’être remise en cause dans les notions de développement.
