The stated aim of this book is to place the translator at the centre of investigation and that this should be done from “a multidisciplinary perspective”. The focus on the translator embraces questions on both teaching and practice, while the multidisciplinary dimension derives mainly from the incorporation of methodologies from other disciplines (notably medicine) and from the claim that Translation Studies itself accommodates other disciplines.
