Perhaps now more than ever we need books that speak to us about the ways in which different cultures communicate with each other and about the mechanisms of cross-cultural debate. An Anthology of Chinese Discourse on Translation, a two volume project of which the first volume has been available for some time now, is a highly welcome addition to the existing literature in this field.
