With their textbook Strategie der Übersetzung (The Strategy of Translation), first published in 1982 and now available in its 5th edition, Paul Kußmaul and Hans Hönig (✞) made an invaluable contribution to functionalist translation pedagogy. Generations of students in translation programs, including myself, have profited from this book; it has inspired many teachers of translation, not only in Germany.
