Reading Audiovisual Translation. Language Transfer on Screen, is somewhat like “going back to the future”. The book cover promises the reader an introduction to the “fascinating subject of translating films and other audiovisual programmes for the television, the cinema, the internet and the stage”, however, this is a promise the collection of articles cannot entirely keep. The quality of the contributions is uneven and some contributions reflect the state of affairs in Audiovisual Translation (AVT) research about five years ago.
