Introduction

Comparing constructions in Germanic and Romance languages

Abstract
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in applying Construction Grammar to cross-linguistic comparison. Traditionally, Construction Grammar has been extensively applied to English, to the detriment of other languages, especially Romance languages such as Spanish, Italian, and French, which remain relatively underexplored. This special issue seeks to address these gaps and advance the theoretical and empirical understanding of cross-linguistic constructional analysis, particularly in Romance language in contrast with other typologically different language families, such as Germanic languages, including English, German or Dutch.
