Reinardus aims at the promoting of comparative research in the fields of medieval comic, satirical, didactic, and allegorical literature (with emphasis on beast epic, fable, and fabliau), including sources, influences and later developments into the modern period. The methods and critical interpretations it offers are as wide-ranging as is its subject matter, since it considers discussion and the coexistence of conflicting views as more important than the defence of a specific methodological point of view. Contents: Michel Bideaux — L'Ane de la fable face au XVIe siècle français; Elaine C. Block — Half Angel — Half Beast. Images of Women on Misericords; André Bouwman — Van den vos Reynaerde and Branch VIII of the Roman de Renart; Paola Cifarelli — Les apologues d'Estienne Valancier; Naoyuki Fukumoto — Sur le ms. a du Roman de Renart; Noboru Harano — Quelques particularités de la Branche VII du Roman de Renart; Jean LacroixGli animali parlanti (1802) de Casti; Brian Levy — A propos du conte pieux de l'Ermite et du Jongleur; Christopher Lucken — Du ban du coq à l'Ariereban de l'âne.
