This paper investigates the necessity of building a specific language for describing methods in terminology work. This language must reflect fundamentals of terminology theory. What is at stake is the difference between linguistic level, concept level and object level. Such an approach has been carried out to publish the recent standards of the technical committee of ISO/TC 37 in their French version.
