This article deals with the dramatic works of two women, mother and daughter, Thea Andresen (1916–2001) and Annegret Lutz (1945–2003). Their plays are written in the Frisian dialect Öömrang, which is spoken on the island of Amrum, where both women were active as playwrights for a community theatre. The article reconstructs social and narrative structures and gender roles in the respective texts and aims at a short comparison of the dramatic works of both playwrights. The differences lie especially in their value systems.
