Chapter 8
Founding principles of Socioterminology
Socioterminology as a current of thought and academic research emerged in the 1990s. Research carried out in various fields has led to different theoretical approaches. Certain concepts were revised, and others were created. These new proposals made it possible to take into account the great variety of real language practices. This chapter reviews the development of Socioterminology, its actors, and its conceptual and methodological implications.
